Schindler ID is particularly well-suited for passengers with special needs. All standard fixtures meet or exceed Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and governing codes, and users still experience the most efficient Schindler ID trip. Visual and audible cues can be provided, indicating car assignment and location, status of doors opening and closing, and arrival at destination floor.
To activate Schindler ID’s specialized accessibility features, the user presses the Accessibility symbol and then the desired destination floor. Schindler ID attempts to assign an elevator with fewer passengers to allow extra room in the car. Where possible, the system will avoid assigning a car with exiting passengers at the boarding floor.
